Introduction to Multimedia and Hypermedia
(2 credits)
An introduction to the theoretical background of the hypertext, multimedia and hypermedia as well as application of multimedia. Also, an emphasis is put on distributed hypertext systems.

Multimedia Tools
(5 credits)
Introduction to authoring systems (HyperCard, ToolBook, MacroMind Director), picture and text formats. The purpose is to provide students with the technical ability needed when building their own applications.

Computer Mediated
Communication
(2 credits)
Introduction to today's and tomorrow's new ways of digital communication in computer networks, especially in Internet. The topics include electronic mail, news, file transfers (FTP), telnet, integrated informations systems (WorldWideWeb), and tools the UN IX operating system offers as well as protocols and markup languages that make WorldWideWeb work.

Analysis and
Design of Human Computer Interaction
(3 credits)
Introduction to selection of tools for the presentation (menus, dialogues), how to analyze the usability of the interface and how to conduct usability research.

Final Project
(3 credits)
Each student conducts an individual multimedia project using the skills acquired during the course. Students are encouraged to select their owb subjects according their study field. The course will be closed in a seminar where the results of the projects are demonstrated and evaluated.
Computer Supported Co-operative Work
