Father of the Generation X

Douglas Coupland is the leading author of the Generation X. It was his first novel Generation X, which coined the name for an entire generation. Since the first book was published 1991, he has written three more books and each of them have surprised their readers. Shampoo Planet was really funny, Life After God was totally stange and his newest novel Microserfs is probably his best book yet.

He was raised in Vancouver and still resides there. Before starting to write his novels Coupland attented Emily Carr College of Art and design in Vancouver and took two-year course in Japanese business science in Sapporo, Japan. He did quite good as a sculptor and had a solo show at the Vancouver Art Gallery at age of 26.
