The course "Multimedia Authoring System" was offered in the Spring Term 1996. For this study programme you can take 15 credits. This programme included two exams and preparation 5 projects.
On beginning we has introductin to the theoretical background of the hypertext, multimedia and hypermedia as well as application of multimedia. Within the limits of thie course we had some lectures with John A.Waterworth - a teacher from UmeĀ University, in Northern Sweden.
Than we started the most funny lectures "Multimedia Tools". It lasted all month (some long hours every day), but we learnd a lot - it was introduction to authoring systems (Hypercard, Toolbook, PowerPoint), production of multimedia elements (text, picture, sound, video). Wed had to build our own application in Toolbook and PowerPoint.
In April we started with "Computer Mediated Communication". That was the
introduction to today's and tommorow's new ways of digital communication
in computer networks. We concentrated us on the Internet. There was
spoken about electronic mail, file transfers (FTP), telnet, integrated
informations systems (Gopher and WorldWideWeb) etc.
Within limits of this course we had theoreticall and practice lessons. In
the pratice part we spent a lot of time with HTML-language.For this
course
each of us made one project - it was a page in Netscape about a subject
which was chosen by usself.
I think that was my favourite course, especially the practice part.
That makes fun to prepare this project for Anna.
The knowledge which we goet during this course we could use for our
final project.
As the last course we made "Analysis and Design of Human Computer
Interface". It was introduction to selection of tools for the
presentstion , how to analyze the usability of the interface and to
conduct usability research.
We had exam and we prepared a project for this course.
In my opinion all students are pleasent with this course. They had a
possibility to get to know this for a lot of them new subject.
I think the best exam for us was the preparing this Final Project. In
this work we colud check our knowledge.
