Summer University is a part of the open university system in Finland. The open university teaching of the summer universities is meant both for adults and young people. The teaching is arranged in cooperation with the universities. The teaching is in accordance with university curricula and corresponds to the univerity level in content, requirements and the qualifications of teachers. The certificates issued are equal to those issued by the universities.

In Finland the academic year consists of spring term and autum term. Summer Universities arrange for the most part the studies for university students during the summer time.

Within the limits of Sommer University you can take part in a lot of courses like: International Human Resource Management Business Communication Human Resource Managemnet.

Languages are taught in the Summer University professional and recreational education. The training consists of the most popular European languages but also of some more exotic languages like Arabic and Sanskrit.

The Summer University also engage in a considerable amount of Finnish language teaching for foreign students. The foreign student usually takes part in 1-3 Finnish courses arranged by a summer unversity thus achieving a minimum knowledge of language. You can then start the actual university study.

In year 1996 you could take part in language courses like English, German, Italian, Swedish and Finnish.
