The 13th European Symposium on
Language for Special Purposes

Dear Symposium Participant, Dear Colleague,
we are pleased to publish information on
the 13th European Symposium on Language for
Special Purposes, organised by the University of Vaasa,
Department of Scandinavian Languages, in cooperation with the
AILA Scientific Commission on Language for Special Purposes.
This announcement contains documents that can be downloaded (programme for each day and abstracts). Information about locations can be found at the bottom of this page.
NB. The registration fee was FIM 750 before June 1, 2001.
After this date the registration fee is FIM 1050.
After the conference we intend to publish a selection of papers, for which we will use a reader's procedure. The deadline for manuscripts will be October 1, 2001.

The registration desk is located at the main entrance of Tervahovi, the university main building. You can register on Sunday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 19th. The time for registration on Monday 20th August is 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., but since some participants will be arriving late it will be possible to register throughout the symposium. At the registration desk you will receive a bag containing conference material,
including a book containing abstracts, conference programme, list of
and their addresses and other useful information. The bag also contains pen and
paper and information on Vaasa/Vasa. Please be prepared to pay for fees that we have agreed on, such as fees for
excursions or lunches (if you have not already paid for them) when registering.
You should preferably pay in FIM, Finnish marks. Unfortunately we are unable to
accept credit cards such as Visa or Master Card.
Paper presentations, poster sessions, colloquia
All presentations, poster sessions and colloquia are held in Tervahovi.
In B203 (classroom in Tervahovi) there will be a book exhibition throughout the conference week. If you wish, you can send us material or bring it with you for this exhibition. The material exhibited will remain the property of the University of Vaasa.
The reception on Monday, August 20th is arranged by the city of Vaasa at the Ostrobothnian Museum on the corner of Koulukatu/Skolhusgatan and Museokatu/Museigatan.
There will be an award ceremony arranged by IITF and Infoterm on Tuesday 21st 16.30-17.15. The ceremony takes place in Tervahovi.
All lunches are served in the Mathilda restaurant in Tervahovi, the university main building.
