Japan: Kobe

Pine is one of the symbols of Kobe, and our first memory of Kobe is indeed the strong scent of pine trees that surround the shinkansen railway station above the city on the mountain slope. And of course a loud chorus of cikadas as the only sound welcomed us to Kobe.

Sunset in Kobe
Our friends from Kobe,
Sandy and Goro, and the
strange looking cloud formation.
Ichiriki , the ryokan we stayed at.
We enjoyed our 5 nights' stay there.
It was a good base for day trips
in the surroundings. The hot
Japanese bath in the end of the day
was good medicine for our tired bodies.
This old cosy ryokan had more surprises
for us: Internet and Macintoshes!
Oyasumi nasai! Good night!
Yukata waiting.
