TLTE.2010 Mobile Communication Services and Systems

Different topics which cover the main picture of the Mobile Communication systems are given in this course. Although most of the course is descriptive, there is some mathematical analysis to explain the modulation methods as well as the network planning process.

 

The main course contents are:

 

·       Introduction to mobile communication systems

·       GSM Architecture

·       Handover Principles

·       Signalling Analysis of GSM

·       Logical Channels of GSM

·       General Packet Radio Services (GPRS)

·       Mobile Channels

·       GSM Network Planning

·       UMTS Principles and Architecture

·       Integration between UMTS and GSM

·       Handover and Radio Resource Management in UMTS

·       HSDPA in UMTS

 

Every student should also prepare and present one presentation about one of the major wireless communication topics which are not covered in the course such as WiFi, Bluetooth, DECT, WiMAX, etc.

To Pass the Course: Presentation + Exam.
