May I use Garbo's astronomy images?

I'd like to use one of the fine astronomy images in your Garbo collection on my home page. May I?

Thank you for your gentle request. Unfortunately, there is a misunderstanding. In all likelihood you are asking the wrong person. The copyrights of all the material, astronomy images or otherwise, on Garbo archives belong to the authors of the respective files. We only own the files which we have made ourselves. Thus, most of the time, I am not in a position to give such permissions.

Ok. So who's the author whom I should ask then?

See if the information is contained in the material you are asking about. If that information is not present, I regret, but there is nothing I can do. In the case of astronomy images, there is one thing you could try to do. Go to my astronomy site links , and try if you can yourself manage to locate the original image. That might help you find the author and/or the copyright policy information.
